The Self Advocacy Group (or SAG for short) is a user-led set up to enable people to speak up themselves and others, so that people with mental ill health can make sure that every voice gets heard. SAG was set up by local mental health service users and is hosted by Aspiro but remains independent. We are based in Leicester City and the Self Advocacy Group is set up to support adults who have experienced mental ill health. We want to create a group where users can learn self-advocacy and peer-advocacy skills to support themselves and others to improve the services they receive. We currently meet weekly on Fridays 1.30-2.30pm or you can attend our Open Afternoonon Friday 24th May 1-3pm, both are at Aspiro, 15 Wellington Street, Leicester LE1 6HH.
The Self Advocacy Group has received funding from the Carlton Hayes Charity for which we are grateful and this will help with running SAG.
